I'm Michelle. I spent a decade in operating rooms, helped put the first brain implants into human beings, and then left to build something of my own. I write about food as medicine, listening to what your body is already telling you, and the unglamorous middle of changing your life.

What I write about
Three questions I keep coming back to.
Not as a slogan. As a mechanism. What you eat is the most frequent decision you make about your own body, and almost nobody explains how it actually works on the inside.
Notice, connect, adjust. Most people are not broken; they've just never been taught to read their own data. Foggy, tired, wired at 11pm — those are sentences, not moods.
You're not starting over. You're translating. Everything you've already built comes with you — it just needs a different set of words.
The short version
I scrubbed into plastic surgery in New York. I ran study operations at a neurotech startup. I led the surgical team on the first in-human brain-computer interface implants — a job with no manual, because nobody had done it before.
What every one of those rooms had in common: someone had to write the process down while it was still happening. That's the part I'm good at. Now I do it out loud, for a living, mostly about the body.
Things you can use
Every page ends in a decision, a filled-in worksheet, or something you can use the same afternoon. If it doesn't, it gets cut.
